Train the maid and spoil the child

Civilisation has come with so many privileges and easy ways of life. In recent times we have lots of machines doing almost everything ranging from washing, cleaning, cooking and lots more even as the internet is not left out.

However, despite all forms of civilisation we still have those who are  less-privileged to access all that has been provided by civilisation i.e the maids in our homes, homes of our family members and even rich individuals who have the  capability to keep one.

Traditionally, maids in all the African clime are treated lower than the other members of the family. I have been opportuned to be be around in several places where I find maids being maltreated even with their great services rendered to their employers. To this end, the children in such homes also have zero regard for their maids who do virtually all the hard jobs for them. They are too fast to call them by name, insult them and even speak of them as nothing.

Maids in different homes have over the time taken the roles of children in various homes. Children have little or nothing to do other than school, play and sit with the television all day. This training which most parents find as a nice treatment for their children to understand that they are loved is obviously not the right approach to showing them love.

Years back as a kid who didn't have much time with mummy, I felt much love even though I did virtually all the chores at home. She made me feel no pain in what I did and I never for once went out seeking for help to carry out any of the chores which I did on a daily basis until I left her in furtherance of my education. I most time appreciate her efforts while I was so young because most of the things I did back then is paving ways for me and I really have no stress in handling such.

Now to the contemporary civilised society, the maids are the ones being given home training while the children just seat all day doing nothing. It is true that children hurry to school so early but that doesn't stop them from doing anything at least after school. Its even more surprising to see that parents even restrict their female children from even doing any thing at home. Truth be told, I as an individual will run at the sight of a lady who cannot do anything, most especially cook (my ideology) which if she lacks posses great problem to the relationship thereafter.

Children in every home should be encouraged in doing some minor chores such as sweeping, mopping, washing and cleaning. It doesn't matter whether technology has helped out in so many ways and we expect to be free afterwards. The use of this technological appliances that reduce human work or stress was not meant to take over the use of the natural ability of humans. Children should be allowed to do some chores and parents should also have it at the back of their minds that their children will not always be there with them and for them.

I STAND TODAY YO SAY LET US ALLOW THE CHILDREN DO THEIR CHORES AND THE MAIDS TO SERVE AS ASSISTANCE
